Policy

The Sustainability Policy of SITE Southeast is to foster and implement initiatives that support sustainability in planning and managing meetings, conferences, and events. SITE Southeast is committed to establishing a position of sustainability leadership in our industry and providing the resources and support for continual improvement.

Purpose

The purpose behind this policy is a commitment to our vision, principles, and values in support of preserving and protecting environmental, social, and economic conditions impacted by our organization.

Vision

SITE Southeast will promote and lead sustainability in all meeting planning activities we control or influence. We will target specific events to execute improvement in processes and document progress.

Earth Day

SITE Southeast celebrated Earth Day April 22nd with individual activations taking place across our Eight states! Posts sent to #SITESoutheast and @SITESoutheast were curated to create a story board for SITE Global as part of our roadmap to our chapter sustainability certification.

The Centre is a representation of our vision, mission, and values. It is dedicated to providing globally- relevant resources that champion the adoption of sustainable and socially impactful practices. Through access to such resources, we contribute to a lasting pan-industry commitment to environmental and social responsibility, including accelerated action for sustainable development and increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our global events industry has the ability and responsibility to drive meaningful change, create welcoming communities and improve society through our actions.

Sustainability Pledge

Events Industry Council Sustainable Event Standards

Major changes have been made to increase the EIC Sustainable Event Standards’ ease of use, strengthen social responsibility considerations and recognise innovation and exemplary performance. These standards will replace the APEX / ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meeting Standards. More than 100 of the industry’s leading practitioners contributed to the development of the new standards, which have been purposefully designed to increase sustainable practices across the events industry.
